On the afternoon of May 4th, 2013, Quanzhou held a commemoration meeting for the 94th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, the Youth May Fourth Medal, and the Ten Outstanding (Excellent) Young Entrepreneurs. Municipal Party Committee Secretary Huang Shaoping attended and gave a speech. She raised three hopes for the city’s youth . A group of advanced young people who have made outstanding contributions to Quanzhou's modernization drive and the work of the Communist Youth League were commended at the meeting. Mr. Hu Chengliang, executive director of Jinjiang Honor International Hotel, was awarded the honorary title of "Quanzhou Youth May 4th Medal".

　　The 6th "Quanzhou Youth May 4th Medal" was selected by the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Quanzhou Youth Federation to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the party and the 94th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. Constructing a modern industrial and trade port city in the economic zone on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, implementing the "Two Accelerations" and making outstanding achievements and positive contributions of advanced youth collectives and individual models, guiding and encouraging the majority of young people to inherit and carry forward the spirit of the "May 4th Movement" and promote with practical actions Quanzhou has made new contributions to scientific development and leapfrog development. The "Quanzhou Youth May 4th Medal" is the highest honor awarded to the youth of our city by the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Municipal Youth Federation. In order to show the spirit of the city’s youth, we have set up a group of advanced youth models who have made outstanding achievements in the practice of promoting Quanzhou’s second entrepreneurship and building modern Quanzhou.

They will guide and encourage more young people to make more positive contributions to our city’s construction of a modern industrial and trade port city in the economic zone on the west side of the Straits.
